Person identified after series of threats to LCHS

SANFORD – The Lee County Sherriff’s Office announced Tuesday night they have identified the person that might be responsible for a series of threats made to Lee County High School. This came on the same day LCHS was under lockdown for the third time in five school days.

A direct threat to a school resource officer was also made.

The Sherriff’s Office announced on Facebook the person, who is a juvenile, was identified after working with administration and staff.

Due to their age, no name was released. Juvenile petitions were filed Tuesday night.

Petitions for six counts of communicating threats of mass violence on an educational property and one count of communicating threats to a school resource officer were filed.
