Harry Styles, The Police and The Beatles were on display on the Lee County High School auditorium stage Thursday, Friday and Saturday night as the show choir held its first performances of the year.

The show had a variety of different songs ranging from The Beatles to Harry Styles.

“As far as the songs go, everyone has input,” said LCHS Music teacher Alexa Hughes.

The show started with seniors Leah Paige and Nathan Spitler bringing comedic relief to the stage in cowboy hats. The show ended in a group ensemble of “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” by The Police.

Show choir has been practicing since September but selected their songs after winter break.

“We pretty much did everything from when we got back from Christmas break to now,” Hughes said.

The show was full of elaborate dance numbers with some tap included along with ribbon dancing. There were many heartfelt numbers like Matilda by Harry Styles that included some newer faces in the show choir like Lorelei Garrity

“It was really good to work with them especially since it is a new group of people from last year,” Garrity said.

“The first time I ever heard of show choir was when Mrs. Hughes handed me a shirt and said ‘hey be in show choir,’ and I said ‘okay I will,’ said senior Peyton Freeman. “It was the best decision that I’ve ever made because I love these people and love creating and working with them.”

When asked how working with everyone in and on show choir Lucas Nelson said “It was great, I enjoyed every second of it”.

The LCHS show choir has another show to prepare for with performances coming in June.
