Lockdown cleared at LCHS

A lockdown was cleared at Lee County High School on Friday afternoon after the threat was found to be a hoax. No threat was found on campus.

Shortly before 11 am, LCHS received a threat by phone. It is not clear what the exact threat was.

“Out of an abundance of caution, students and employees were evacuated from their buildings but remained on campus while the Lee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a thorough search of all buildings,” LCHS posted on social media. “No threat was found on campus.”

Shortly after the threat was called in, buildings were emptied with students and staff released to the courtyard. Around noon, everyone was asked to move into the cafeteria. An announcement was made at 12:25 pm announcing the threat was cleared.

Parents and families were made aware of the situation via social media and the ParentSquare app. The schedule for the day was shifted with students attending all classes throughout the day.
