SANFORD – With Christmas just around the corner, Lee County High Schools Show Choir spreads the cheer with their second annual Christmas show. Show Choir and Dancers Workshop collaborate again to present Merry & Bright, A holiday Revue.
Some songs they’re performing include Sleigh Ride, Run Rudolph, Santa tell me, We need a little Christmas, and Santa can you hear me. “My favorite song in the show is Sleigh ride because it’s an all girls number and we’re all really sassy in it,” senior member Elida Nuñez says.
“My favorite moment from this year would probably be working with dancers workshop and having other people come in and teach us different dances,” Nuñez states. Members of Show Choir get the opportunity to choose songs, work with Dancers Workshop and improve. “They’re very experienced in their dances, it really challenges us, and it allows us to work harder.” she continues.
“I think it’s fun to have variety in the show. It gives our kids that aren’t really into dance something to be inspired by and hopefully dance a little more,” Alexa Hughes, Show Choir director and teacher at LCHS says about working with Dancers Workshop.
“People should come see the show because it gets you in the Christmas spirit,” Nuñez says “its really fun, upbeat, and gets you in a good mood.”
Staying with the holiday spirit, Show Choir will be running a toy drive for Toys for Tots as admission. Patrons can bring an unwrapped toy or a $5 donation for admission as well. December 12 & 13 at 7p.m. and 14 at 2:30p.m. in the LCHS auditorium.
