SANFORD- Lee County High School’s show choir is hosting a movie night; not through film but through singing. Directed by music teacher, Alexa Hughes, audiences are in for the experience of seeing their favorite movie songs come to light in a dance performance.

Five years ago, show choir did a TV/movie night performance. Many people loved it for it’s comedy references. “We did more tv than movies so I decided to just stick with movies this time” Hughes said.

The effort and choreography that show choir has done during their rehearsals has been worth it, Aiden Monforto says.

“I feel like the progression of the show is very well, and it’s very worth a watch.” Monforto said. “Anyone who comes will have a great time and enjoy the songs and performances from everyone!”

Some of their songs were mostly picked together while Hughes picked some older classier songs to spice up the performance. They wanted to have a different variation of songs from Disney, DreamWorks, musicals, and to down to older pieces. They really put in a lot of effort through the months. Molly Nelson said “I feel like the show will be really good.”

Many of the  show choir kids are excited and just cannot wait for the upcoming performance such as Trey Edwards, who has a solo in the performance. Edwards says that “I am very excited for the show…And I hope we have a huge audience there!”

The movie night opening night opens Thursday at 7pm with other performances on Friday and Saturday nights.
